The Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors (AGSI) was established under SI 135/ 1978 (The Garda Síochána (Associations) Regulations 1978) to represent the interests of members of An Garda Síochána holding the ranks of Sergeant, Station Sergeant and Inspector in the areas of welfare, pay and conditions of service in An Garda Síochána.
The Association represents 2007 members of Sergeant and Inspector Ranks.
The Association is organised through Branches who elect a Branch Committee. From these Committees a 13-member National Executive is elected by Postal Ballot.
From that Executive the President is then elected at the Annual Delegate Conference. All elections take place every three years.
