Blanchardstown gardaí held a very successful Open Day recently during which hundreds of local people attended and viewed a spectacular afternoon of garda and frontline service displays.
Big hits with the local families which included dozens of local children included the displays by the public order unit, the Water Unit and the Mounted Unit as well as music provided by the Garda Band.

Vintage cars were also a big hit - the Model 'T' Ford and the 1984 Ford Granada atracted a great deal of attention.


Dublin Fire Brigade mounted an impressive Vehicle Rescue Demonstration and onlookers were enthralled by the skills necessary to rescue persons from a badly-damaged vehicle.
