About membership - and how to apply
The association has a network of 31 branches - listed on the public part of this site (further details available to members) covering all divisions and specialised sections in An Garda Siochana and members have access to that branch network, and to AGSI head office in the event that the member requires advice on any issue arising from their duty or in relation to the services provided by the association.
A number of insurance services are included in the membership subscription and members also have access to enhanced insurance and other optional schemes at attractive group rates which are not available to individuals.
The association also maintains a countrywide trained team of local Advocates who are available to assist members in dealing with disciplinary issues and matters involving the Garda Siochana Ombudsman Commission. A Legal Aid Scheme is also included in the membership subscription.
The association provides emailed and hard copy news information buletins to members on a regular basis informing them of progress on all matters of relevance - including pay, welfare and conditions of service. Members receive an annual Yearbook and Diary and a pocket diary containing a great deal of useful information also.
